HUNGRY TO LEARN

I have a deep passion and hunger for learning and trying new things - code or creative! My work spans various areas, including VR/AR, ConTech, and indie app development. Beyond my professional pursuits, I have a deep passion for travel, food, and art.In my free time, I am constantly seeking opportunities to expand my development skills through personal projects and the challenges I tackle at work. From hustling through my paper round at 16 to diving headfirst into the world of technical support at 17, I've cultivated a deep understanding of technology, all while honing my people skills and nurturing a hunger for continuous learning. My journey has been as diverse as my interests, which range from creative pursuits to an insatiable wanderlust for exploration. From delving into various fields to pursuing creative hobbies and immersing myself in the vibrant realms of travel and media, my experiences have shaped me into the versatile individual I am today.London, with its rich tapestry of culture and endless opportunities, drew me in for my studies. After growing up amidst its bustling energy, I decided to return there for my education before venturing into the vibrant landscape of Manchester. It's here that I've delved into new paths, all while thriving in my current remote role, where I'm constantly pushing the boundaries of my entrepreneurial spirit.Join me on this journey as I showcase my expertise and share my experiences in the tech world.

MIXED UX/UI PROJECT

Duolingo Home

Duolingo Home was a unique chance for me to test my skills in both service design and interface design. Producing the concept as part of rapid iteration for the D&AD New Blood competition, this concept involved designing a voice-enabled interface for the popular Duolingo language learning app.

MOBILE UX/UI / DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

Opossum Facts!

As an avid iPhone user at the time, I decided to try my hand at prototyping a simple iOS app using SwiftUI. Though new to coding, my enthusiasm for creating delightful digital experiences pushed me to expand my skills. The result was Opossum Facts!, a humble yet charming app that shares random tidbits about these often misunderstood creatures. With the tap of a button, users are presented with an intriguing fact about possums.

Duolingo Home

Duolingo Home was a unique chance for me to test my skills in both service design and interface design. Producing the concept as part of rapid iteration for the D&AD New Blood competition, this concept involved designing a voice-enabled interface for the popular Duolingo language learning app.Researching the provided briefs, data, and clients with my team, we selected Duolingo after we discovered that only 8.4% of registered Duolingo users engage with the app each month. I looked in to ways we could improve this and presented a compelling problem statement: β€œcan we create a new way for learners to engage with Duolingo?” After running a focus group, we identified users wanted an experience that went beyond the phone.

Opossum Facts!

As an avid iPhone user at the time, I decided to try my hand at prototyping a simple iOS app using SwiftUI. Though new to coding, my enthusiasm for creating delightful digital experiences pushed me to expand my skills. The result was Opossum Facts!, a humble yet charming app that shares random tidbits about these oft-misunderstood creatures. With the tap of a button, users are presented with an intriguing fact about possums. To build up a database of opossum knowledge, I leveraged some crafty web-scraping and used a language model to parse and rank over 1000 interesting finds about the animal. This allowed me to trim away any questionable facts and focus on verified info from reliable sources. While a simple one-screen app, the project gave me hands-on practice with SwiftUI and challenged me to learn from more experienced developers, research, and persevere through debugging woes, independently. It re-ignited my passion for crafting apps with care and creativity.
